Bob Culbertson

 

In 1976 Bob Culbertson met Emmett Chapman and that year co-founded the highly acclaimed Stickband with Jim Bruno featuring 2 Stick players. Later after recording with Babatunde Olatunji considered the ambassador of African Drumming Bob began his solo touring.  He has performed in over 20 countries world wide and has become one of the most popular and regarded Chapman Stick players in the world. Bob has performed with well known musicians such as Robben Ford, Zakir Hussain, Robben Trower, Sheila E, Leon Russell, Dave Mason, Alan Holdsworth, Tommy Emanual, Alex De Grassi, Michael Manring Just to name a few. His video cover of While My Guitar Gentely Weeps had garnered over 10,000,000 views in 6 months!

 

Rick Alegria

 

A native of San Jose, California, Rick Alegria studied music at San Jose State University and is a graduate of the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles.  He performed and recorded with Bo Diddley, Maria Muldaur, Asleep At The Wheel, Commander Cody, Queen Ida, jazz-fusion group Real Time, Joan Osborn, Rosanne Cash, Elvis Costello, Michael Mc Donald, Amy Holland, Jon McLaughlin( pop artist), American Idols, Constantine Maroulis , Elliot Yemen, actress/singer Sally Kellerman and all star country swing band Lost Weekend.  In 2016 Rick was inducted into the Western Swing Hall of Fame. He was a featured drummer at the 2008 San Jose Jazz Festival’s Tribute to Louie Bellson and placed second in the 2011 world’s fastest drummer contest in Nashville, is currently working with singer-songwriter Paul Williams, and now Chapman Stick player Bob Culbertson.
